Famous Baila singer Saman de Silva has stated that he has to pay majority of the radio stations to play his songs.
Due to this situation he has not made any creations for the past 7-8 years.
Veteran singers like Pandith Amaradeva and Sanath Nandasiri have also given up composing songs due to this particular reason, he accused.
He also stated that even though the radio stations earn money by airing the old songs, he is not paid even a penny for that.
He accused the radio station for not inviting him for musical programmes organized island wide by the radio stations that earn a good sum of money using his songs.
Only Sri Lanka Broadcasting Service and Sirasa FM make payments when his songs are played, he said.
