Veteran singer Ms.Latha Walpola is preparing to retire from her musical carreer, 'Sri Lanka Mirror' learns.
She is preparing to mark the finale of her famous and long carreer on her 80th birthday which falls on the 11th November 2014.
She said that it will be a grand event where she will sing along with her children and grand children.
Meanwhile, it is also reported that a young "starlet" who had regained an overnight fame from a talent show, had once asked Latha Walpola at a musical show, why she chose to sing a song which the starlet had planned to sing next.
It is also reported that Latha is upset about naming a road in Maharagama by the name of a young singer named Saheli Gamage while her late husband, the veteran singer Dharmadasa Walpola was given no such honour.
