Manel Chandralatha, who was the long time silver screen girlfriend of Freddy Silva, the comedian in Sinhala cinema has returned to Sri Lanka after 9 years.
She had been working in Cyprus for nearly 9 years and there she had taken part in Sriyani Amarasena's "Noratha Ratha" tele drama.
It is said to be telecasted soon.
She says that she will not go abroad again and that she is hoping to join the Cinema again.
She says that due to her undying thirst for acting, she had made requests from many famous actors at that time to give her a chance to act, but it was only Freddy who gave her a chance.
She entered her broad way acting career from Freddy Silva's "Manthree" drama and its director was Chandradasa Fernando.
After that she has contributed to 60 movies between 1988-2003.
She says that it was her who was the 2nd heroine of Freddy Silva, first being Samanthi Lanarol.
Her last movie had been "Vala in London".
When asked why she is so closed to Freddy Silva, she said that he is the share holder of her fame and that compared to what she lost to him, what she gained was immense.
