Real reason for Shirani's removal?

Chief Justice Dr. Shirani Bandaranayake was sacked in January, 2013 using an impeachment procedure. It created an outrage in the country while talk in the legal sector was that there will not be credibility to Supreme Court thereafter. Now the impeachment is being discussed in the political sector again.
