The intervention of United National Party (UNP) leadership council member Karu Jayasuriya has prevented a protest which was to be staged by leading Buddhist monks of United Bhikkhu Front (UBF) against the suggestion tabled by UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe claiming that Sajith Premadasa should be appointed as the deputy leader of the party.
