Mapa's 5 cents drops in hospital

Sri Lanka Mirror hears that famous actor and dancer Suraj Mapa has been hospitalized.

However, it is not actually that he has fallen ill, but to perform a scene in Mahendra Kulasinghe's "Tharumali" tele drama.

 

According to the drama, Suraj is hospitalized due to a road accident.

 

Meanwhile is is heard that Nirmal aka Suraj, is doing some fancy work while lying on the bed.

 

Some say that he is doing a little trick by asking the girls who are playing the role of nurses to pick up 5 cent coin coin he dropped. But what he actually wants is to have a peep at their legs.

 

However, in his defence, Suraj says that it is a story regarding the director who always wants to play card during breaks.

Jackie to gain weight for Salman’s Kick?

Usually, B-town’s glam dolls have to give up on their favorite food items and keep their sweet tooth craving forever, with hours of strenuous workouts to prepare for different roles.

However, lucky girl Jacqueline Fernandez is doing the exact opposite! The actor has agreed to put on 10 kgs to play Salman Khan’s girl in Kick!

 

We hear that Jackie has been asked to put on 10 kilos for her role in Kick. In order to gain weight, she has given up on her diet regime completely and is treating her taste buds to desserts and fast food. Lucky her! The super hot lady has even stopped working out! Double lucky! So far, the Murder 2 actor has gained seven kilos in two months.

 

Jackie will be seen sporting a de-glam look in the film. To prepare for the role, she has been attending workshops too and is working on polishing her Hindi dialect as she considers Kick as her biggest film.

 

In the process of getting ‘BIG’ for her biggest film, we hope she doesn’t get ‘Kick’ed out of B-town with so much weight gain!

Udari joins hands with Kalum

It is reported to Sri Lanka Mirror that famous actress Udari Warnakulasuriya has joined hands with prominent tele-director Kalum Palitha Mahirathna.

Udari has joined Kalum in order to play a role in his latest tele-drama.

 

Udari, who is living in Singapore with her husband and child has come to this agreement while she was in Sri Lanka to visit her father.

 

It is said that she will go back to Singapore in one and half week's time in order to be back in SL when the shooting starts.

 

Udari states that this tele-drama is special to her and that she is awaiting to perform her role in it.

She believes that the viewers will like it too.

 

Describing her life in Singapore, Udari says that she is leading a peaceful and happy life with her husband Sujith and little daughter.

Sri Lanka Mirror hears about a news that famous actress Semini Iddamalgoda has put on some weight due to Cinema director Prasanna Jayakody.

She has done this in order to perform in his latest movie "28 Sri".

 

It is also said that in the movie she is acting as a dead body.

 

Meanwhile, it is said that Semini is in a sad mood these days due to some news published in some websites.

 

She says that it is a completely untrue news.

 

She says that the rumour goes that she has taken legal action against an outsider who had put a false news in one of her web pages.

 

But she says that what had really happened is that she has taken legal action against a news website that had published a slanderous news about her with a blurred picture of hers.

 

She says the news has gone out in a mixed way.

 

However, she says that the news was published without asking from her and that she thinks that it is some Karmic reaction of her early sins.

 

Semini has told media that she event had to take medical treatment after being shocked from that news.

It is reported that Tharuki Amaya Mendis, the younger daughter of veteran acting couple Sriyantha Mendis and Kusum Renu, has become a girlfriend.

Being an actress herself, Tharuki has fallen in love with a young businessman named Shehan Perera.

 

It is said that he is an owner of am electrical goods importing business in Kuliyapitiya.

 

And this affair is said to have been approved by Kusum and Sriyantha.

 

Tharuki is engaged in drama practices to play the role of the maid in "Subha saha Yasa" drama.

Bounced cheque takes Bandu to Court

It is reported that famous cinema, stage and tele actor and comedian Mr. Bandu Samarasinghe having to appear before the Nugegoda magistrate court because of giving a invalid cheque.

It is said that he has given this cheque to pay a fee for a car repair.

 

But when inquired by Sri Lanka Mirror, Bandu said that even he does not know such a thing and asked the mirror to dig out the truth as he was not the one who published such news.

 

When asked whether this is a mud slinging towards Bandu Samarasinghe, he replied that he does not understand anything about it.

Menaka fallen to the streets

Famous actress and model Menaka Maduwanthi has fallen onto the streets, 'Sri Lanka Mirror' learns.

She has thus fallen on to the streets while performing in the Ridee Pahan tele drama directed by Malaka Nandana.

 

According to this tele drama Menaka who has come down to Sri Lanka gives kindness and love towards the street children portraying that "children's world is for children".

 

Shooting was conducted recently and it will be telecasted on Swarnawahini at 7.30pm.

Young singer Sachith Peiris has started a new project, 'Sri Lanka Mirror' learns.

It is the creation of his latest song, named Rani-2.

 

The lyrics have been written by the writer of his previous hit track, 'Rani' - Shehan Galahitiyawa.

 

However, Sachith says that he likes the new phrases which are in the song like "Kethalen Mallak do-Mathalen kellakdo".

 

The video shows tale of the song told by Sachith and Shehan.

Who is Ransi's Rajith?

Famous TV announcer Ransi Ranasinghe is preparing to get married, reports say.

The lucky chap told to be Ransi's fiance is said to be occupied in the IT field.

 

His name is Rajith.

 

Ransi who has completed her post graduate studies in Kelaniya University, is currently working as an announcer in Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation.

 

She says that although they belong to different fields, Rajith is a good match for her.

It is reported that popular singer Nirosha Virajini has not even attended to the funeral of Mr. Aruna Kithsiri, the lyricist who wrote Nirosha the song "Sitha obata muwawi iki bindina", which became the turning point of her singing career, at a time she was stuck in singing Tamil and Hindi songs.

The music was provided by Samantha Perera.

 

It is said that his casket was placed in Sama Mvatha, Biyagama for nearly 3 days.

 

Kithisi who joined the field as a production coordinator, although had written songs for a bunch of singers, it is said only a few like Kasun Kalhara, Chandani Hettiarachchi, Dhammika Thewarapperuma and Samantha Perera had even remembered him.

 

It is said that Kithsiri has a one and a half year old daughter.

 

However, Nirosha had explained that she could not come for the funeral as she had a musical show two days later.

Ayomi scores again

Ayomi Shanika, who was a famous actress, has once again entered into a married life, reports say.

This time she has got married in secret. Even in the previous time, Ayomi married without any announcement, and then her husband was a person involved in both politics and media.

It is reported that her marriage, for which only a handful had been invited, has been held at Mt. Lavinia Hotel.

Ayomi first got married on the 2nd June 2009. It was only said to have been confined to mere registration, and later it is said that she had nullified it at the Kaduwela Courts.

However, currently, Ayomi is working as an Ayurvedic doctor at Borella Ayurvedic Hospital and Navinna Ayurvedic Hospital, Sri Lanka Mirror hears.

Famous actress Tharushi Perera says that her husband is not aware of any actresses.

She had made this remark while answering a question raised by a journalist during a newspaper interview on whether her husband had loved only "Tharushi the Actress".

Tharushi had there revealed that she had ended her single life and have already engaged to a bank officer named Sumedha Tennakoon.

Expressing her views on this new relationship, Tharushi has said that she is done with acting and planning to become a good wife and a mother, which are valuable  things for a woman.

He has further said that her husband had made no restrictions to her about acting and that it was a decision she took by herself.

Directors worried about Sanoja’s weight!

Cinema and tele drama actress Sanoja Bibile has of late been sidelined due to her increasing weight.


As a result, she had lost two films and three tele dramas recently.

 

Instead of telling the reason to her face, the directors of those productions had said elsewhere that she was not chosen due to her heaviness.

However, Sanoja is displeased with them over the matter.

Sanoja had gained weight to 85 kilos, from 69 kilos.

Now, she has turned to swimming in an attempt to get her weight reduced.

There are rumours doing the rounds that director Channa Perera is going to divorce his actress, beautician wife Gayatri Dias.

However, Gayatri has said this talk is 10 years old.

 

She has also said,

 

“Rumours are good. I love them. Rumours mean we are being talked about. I like that very much. Things that are bad spread faster than good things. People are mouthing more to condemn, insult and oppress others. The divorce talk about Channa and me has been there for about 10 years now.

 

We cannot say that there is absolutely no problem between the two of us. We are humans. But, I cannot say we will be together until our deaths. We might or might not be divorced. We cannot predict the future.

 

We all have personal lives. There are things we can speak about, and also things we cannot speak about. It is surprising that people have made a problem out of us when there are so many problems in the country.”

Young singer Santhush Weeraman recently had escaped injury in a platform collapse during a musicial show.


The event had been organized by a broadcasting channel in view of CHOGM.

 

As Santhush was singing to the audience, his fans got into the platform and started dancing to the music.

 

Moments later, the platform collapsed as it could not withstand the weight of those on it.

Paboda returns to SL with child

Popular actress Rashi Paboda Sandeepani has returned to Sri Lanka with her young son, reports say.


Padoda gave birth to her first child - 'Sawen' at a hospital in France on July 04.

 

During her pregnancy, Paboda went to her father who is living in France.

 

Though she had initially decided to remain in France for around one year, her plans changed with her husband not getting visa, sources say.

 

She is married to the son of Nimal Chandrasiri Bandara - who is the owner of the famous Nimal garage in Kottawa.

FM presenter acquitted of Umaria harassment charge

English FM channel presenter Ramsay Jaynoor was today acquitted (11) of a charge of having pulled the hand of jazz songstress Umaria Sinhawansa and harassed her at the car park of  Colombo’s World Trade Centre on 2nd November last year.

 

The court had been told that Umaria had faced the harassment while being in the company of Bhatiya Jayakody of the Bhatiya-Santhush musical group.

 

Jaynoor’s lawyer claimed she had been her client’s girlfriend for one year.

 

Umariya, aged 22, became popular through her duets with her sister Umara as well as Bhatiya-Santhush.

 

In 2010, Umara married jewellery & gem businessman Rifky Fahmi.
